PAVEMENT AND GROUND SUPPORT SYSTEMS

At Phipps, we offer complete ground reinforcement systems to ensure the longevity of a beautiful and aesthetic landscape and surrounding environment.

We work with structural engineers, groundworks, and conservation specialists to create areas for access while avoiding damage to the local area.

Protecting Existing and Newly Planted Trees

We apply our knowledge of pavement and ground support systems to preserve existing trees as well as plant new mature trees. We also provide access to areas with footpaths or roads using methods that don't impact the existing ground. Our reinforcement systems prevent unfortunate situations such as trees growing into roads, pavements, or surrounding structures, while still offering an area of green space and allowing the trees to grow and enhance the area. Our expertly-trained team of landscapers handles projects with care, providing robust and innovative solutions.

We use several methods for protecting new and existing trees or protecting existing ground with temporary natural methods such as:

  • Root Barriers: Our root barriers act as a protective shield, redirecting tree roots away from roads, pavements, or buildings while maintaining the tree roots’ health.

  • Silva Cells: Silva cells, which act as a suspended pavement, protect trees from underground and supply them with enough oxygen and nutrients for the roots to grow large in volume without spreading out of their designated position.

  • Ground Reinforcement Grid: Soft and unstable ground can be difficult to maintain and travel across without the installation of adequate ground reinforcement systems. Embankments, slopes, soft verges, gravel driveways, and footpaths can all benefit from a range of ground stabilization products to change the use of a less adaptable area.

Solving Potential Problems

Our ground reinforcement service protects trees, roads, and construction sites in the present and the future by controlling and preventing soil erosion, managing root growth, and protecting the designated root zone. These precautionary measures help trees, especially mature ones, grow healthily for decades to come without needing expensive and time-consuming maintenance.

A Foundation Built on Trust

With years of experience in the field and a vision for sustainability, we have made it our goal to effectively communicate and work with designers, landscape architects, specialists, and structural engineers to provide the best landscaping solutions on time, on budget, and with as little future maintenance as possible.
